Included in this directory are:

- the original ZMODEM documentation: zmodem-forsberg.txt
It was written by the protocols inventor Chuck Forsberg, and last
changed in 1988. It is partially out of date, but contains a wealth
of historical information, for example the considerations leading to
  the protocol.

- a shorter ZMODEM documentation: zmodem-zmtx-zmrx.txt
Written by Jacques Mattheij, the author of the zmtx-zmrx suite.
It was written in 1994, and is also out of date.

- my own ZMODEM work-in-progress documentation: zmodem-wip.txt
  It was written in 2026.
I marked many features as deprecated, because they are either
obsolete or should not be used in todays environment. I also
  documented common extensions.

- my work-in-progress ZMODEM64 proposal, to add large file
support, larger and more precise time stamps, receiver originated
window, rxbuf and subpacket sizes and receivers originated
  escapes to the protocol.

- zmodemsnif.txt, the only documentation of the ZMODEM sniffer i
  use.
This is a rework of my old recordxyz, but the options are
incompatible, and the 'feature' of crashing randomly is gone.
